Privacy Policy

Effective 11 July 2026 · Last updated 11 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Adapted Innomark Solutions LLC (“Adapted Innomark,” “we,” “us,” or the “Provider”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use The Gathered mobile application and parish administration console (together, the “Service”).

How The Gathered works. The Gathered is a platform we license to individual churches and parishes (each, a “Church”). Your Church invites you and decides what information to keep about you. For the personal information about members that flows through the Service, your Church is the data controller and Adapted Innomark is the service provider (processor) acting on the Church’s behalf. For questions about the data your Church holds, please also contact your parish office. For questions about the platform itself, contact us using the details at the end.

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to (a) parish members who use The Gathered mobile app, and (b) parish clergy and staff who use the admin console. It does not cover any third-party service that has its own privacy policy (see “Third parties” below).

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to run a parish management app. Depending on how your Church configures the Service and what you choose to provide, this may include:

CategoryExamples
Account & identityName, email address, phone number, and a securely hashed password. A single active mobile session is maintained per member.
Member profile / directoryDate of birth, home address and area, profile photo, member ID, household/family relationships, wedding/anniversary date, and (optional) blood group and social handles. Your Church controls whether you appear in the parish directory.
Giving & financeRecords of donations and offerings (amount, fund, method, date) and recurring gifts. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we store the transaction reference, not your card number. “Fee-free” transfer gifts (Zelle / UPI / bank) are recorded as pending until your parish confirms them — those funds move directly between you and your parish.
Community contentPrayer requests, event RSVPs, organisation posts/comments, and any parish business listing you submit. Some prayer requests and pastoral records are confidential and restricted to clergy/assigned carers.
CommunicationsPush-notification device tokens and your notification preferences; emails and messages we send on your Church’s behalf.
Device & usageDevice model/name, app version, IP address, and log/diagnostic data used for security and reliability.
LocationApproximate or precise device location only when you use “find churches near me.” We do not track your location in the background.
CalendarWith your permission, we add parish events to your device calendar. We do not read your existing calendar entries.
PhotosWith your permission, we access the photo you select for your profile. We do not scan your photo library.

3. How we use information

4. Legal bases (where applicable)

Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply (for example to diaspora members outside the U.S.), we and your Church rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Service), your consent (e.g., optional profile fields, notifications, location), legitimate interests (security, running the parish community), and legal obligations (financial record-keeping). You may withdraw consent at any time.

5. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

6. Payments

Online card gifts are processed by Stripe under Stripe’s own privacy policy and terms; we never receive or store your full card number. “Fee-free” transfer gifts you initiate via Zelle, UPI, or bank transfer are made directly from you to your parish through your own bank or payment app — Adapted Innomark is not a party to, and does not process, those payments. We store only the gift details your parish needs to reconcile and thank you.

7. Children’s information

The Gathered is intended for use by adults (parish members and staff). It is not directed to children, and children do not create their own accounts. A parish or a household head may, however, record information about minors who are part of the parish (for example a child in a family record or Sunday-school roster). Where this happens, the parish is responsible for obtaining any parental consent required by law, and parents/guardians may ask their parish to review, correct, or remove that information. If you believe a child’s information has been provided without appropriate consent, contact your parish or us and we will help remove it.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account/membership is active and as needed to provide the Service. Financial and giving records may be retained longer where your Church needs them for tax, audit, or legal reasons. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can request deletion as described below.

9. Your choices & rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object or withdraw consent. Because your Church controls most member data, the quickest route is often your parish office; you may also contact us and we will help, or route your request to your Church.

10. Security

We protect information using encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), strong tenant isolation so one Church cannot see another’s data, role-based access controls, and hashed passwords. Confidential content (private prayer requests, pastoral notes, financial statements) is access-controlled to clergy or assigned carers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you and your Church of any breach as required by law.

11. International transfers

The Service is operated using Google Cloud infrastructure and data may be stored and processed in data centres outside your country (currently the Asia-South region). By using the Service, information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries with different data-protection laws than yours, subject to appropriate safeguards.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a revised “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
